How do you program a 2005 Honda Civic remote?

What do I need to do in order to program my 2005 Honda Civic remote? I just got this car and I don’t really know how to use it, but I want to be able to unlock my car remotely if possible because I tend to use it to transport groceries and other heavy things.

It’s definitely convenient to have a remote handy, especially if you’re carrying lots of things! Here’s how to program your 2005
Honda Civic
remote:
  1. Unlock your doors and turn your ignition to the ON or II position.
  2. Press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote that you’d like to program.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ACCESSORY position (I) or the LOCK position (0), then switch it back to the ON position.
  4. Repeat steps two and three two additional times.
  5. After you’ve pressed the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote the third time, your doors should lock and/or unlock with the remote command.
  6. To confirm the remote, press the LOCK button and ensure the doors lock. If you’d like to program any additional remotes, press the LOCK button on those as well.
  7. Once you’ve programmed all of your remotes, turn your ignition back to the LOCK or 0 position.
  8. You should now lock and unlock your car via remote.
