How do you open the gas tank on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra?
I just got a used 2008 Hyundai Elantra and have been driving around getting used to it. Now it’s looking low on gas and I need to head to the gas station—but I’m still figuring out where all the levers and controls are.

Hyundai Elantra
by pulling the lever on the side of the driver’s door. - When you’re at the gas station, turn off the engine and look down on the far left side of the driver’s door—you should see a black lever with a white gas tank icon.
- Pull up on the fuel-tank lever—but don’t accidentally pull up on the trunk lever right next to it!
- Open the door to the gas tank and turn the gas cap counterclockwise to remove it. Now, you’re all set to refuel your Elantra!
