How do you get temporary insurance on a car?

I only need a car insurance policy for two days. I'm moving and my brother said I could borrow his car. He has insurance, but I want to be sure I am protected while driving his car. How would I get a temporary policy?

“Unfortuantely, most car insurance companies don’t offer
temporary policies
. That said, you still have options for coverage.
Since your brother has a
car insurance
policy, you should have coverage while driving his car. Most insurance policies cover permissive use meaning as long as you have permission, coverage will extend to you.
Another option is to see if your brother would add you to his insurance policy. If he adds you as a listed driver, you would have coverage under his policy, regardless of the circumstances.
If you’d still rather have your own protection, you could opt for
non-owner car insurance
. Non-owner car insurance is a policy for those that don’t own vehicles. It follows a driver to any vehicle, whether they are renting or borrowing. It may be a good option for you if you borrow cars frequently. This is also a great idea if you borrow cars, rent vehicles, or use carsharing programs frequently.
To find a non-owners policy, you can call insurance companies or the friendly agents at
Jerry
. As non-owner policies are specialized coverage, it can be difficult to request a quote and purchase a policy online. Jerry’s agents would be happy to help find you the best rate for a non-owners policy.”
