While you’ll need to know what car you’re getting to get the most accurate quote, you can still get

without one.To start, you’ll need to have a general idea of the type of car you want as insurance rates vary depending on the type of vehicle. While you may not have a specific vehicle in mind, you’ll need to provide insurance companies with a make and model.
There’s no limit on the number of quotes you can receive, so feel free to request them for all the cars you’re considering. Along with the make and model of the car, you’ll also need to provide insurance companies with:
- Your driver’s license number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Type of coverage you require
- Social security number
With this information, companies can give you an estimate of the cost to insure each vehicle.
That said, without the VIN for a car, your quote may change once you finalize your policy.
