I just got my license and my mom’s been letting me use her 2011 Ford Expedition. The car’s pretty old, so I’m having trouble figuring out how to connect my phone. How do you connect to Bluetooth in a 2011 Ford Expedition?

Older Fords use the automaker’s SYNC multimedia system, which can be a little confusing —especially if you’re used to newer technology! But don’t worry, we’ll help you out.
To connect Bluetooth in a 2011
Ford Expedition
, start by accessing the Bluetooth menu on your phone and ensuring the slider is set to ON.Next, turn on your vehicle, and follow these instructions.
- Push the button labeled PHONE on your center dashboard.
- Use one of the arrow keys to cycle through the menu until you find add a Bluetooth device.
- Press the OK button and note the PIN that pops up on the display screen.
- Go back to your phone’s Bluetooth menu, find the available Bluetooth devices list, and then select SYNC.
- Enter the PIN and hit YES to confirm.
As long as you followed the steps above, you should now be able to make and receive hands-free phone calls, as well as access your phone contacts from your car’s infotainment display. However, if you want to listen to music from your device while you drive, you’ll have to pick up a physical auxiliary cable. Unfortunately, the older tech in a 2011 Ford Explorer doesn’t support wireless audio streaming.
