To change the battery in a Honda
keyless remote
, follow these steps:
  • First, check the back of the remote for the type of battery you need.
  • Using a jeweler’s screwdriver, remove the small screw on your remote.
  • Separate the two halves of the remote with a flathead screwdriver.
  • Carefully remove the old battery from the case. Be mindful not to touch the terminals with your fingers when you do this, as that could shorten the life of your remote.
  • Insert your new battery into the terminals in the same position as the old battery. If you’ve forgotten where the positive and negative ends go, don’t worry! There should be markings inside your remote to help you out.
  • Finally, snap the two halves of the remote together and test out your key to make sure it works!
