How do police pull over a self-driving car?
I just bought a new Tesla and am curious about the autopilot features. If the autopilot is on, would police be able to pull over a self-driving car?

Congratulations on your new Tesla! Currently, there is no “automatic” way for police to pull over a self-driving car. As you know, the autopilot function in any self-driving car still requires the driver to stay alert and keep their hands on the wheel.
While technology is being developed and tested that would enable a self-driving car to detect the lights and sirens of a police vehicle and safely pull itself over, it’s not available yet.
As of right now, the only option to pull over a self-driving car is to manipulate the safety programming. This happened a few years ago in San Francisco, when police noticed an unresponsive driver slumped at the wheel of his Tesla. Several police vehicles blocked the car from the sides and behind, then another one got in front and gradually slowed down until the self-driving car was forced to stop.
