How do I turn on low-beam headlights?

I just bought a used car, but I test drove it during the daytime. Now that it’s dark out, I can’t figure out how to turn on the headlights. How do I turn on the low beams?

! Unlike modern or new vehicles, your car likely doesn’t have automatic headlights. So to turn on low-beam headlights, one of these options should do the trick:
  • Find the lever for the turn signal. At the end of this lever, you should feel a switch that rotates. Turn it until the headlights come on.
  • Some models may have the low-beam headlight switch to the left of the steering wheel. These types of cars have a dial that allows you to switch between low beams, fog lights, or daytime running lights. Select low beams and you’re off and running.
Since you just bought a car, you likely already have an insurance policy. But that doesn’t mean you can’t shop around for a better rate. That’s where the
