, you’ll need to reset the maintenance light.Keep in mind that the light is an important warning indicator to let you know when there is something genuinely wrong with your car. Resetting the maintenance light will get it to turn off, but you must have a mechanic resolve the underlying problem first.
Here’s what you’ll need to do to reset the light:
- Turn your Toyota on, but do not start the engine.
- Push and hold the trip meter reset button. You’ll find it on the dashboard.
- Turn the key to position two.
- Continue to hold the odometer button down for 10 seconds.
- The light will flash and beep. Then it will turn off.
- As soon as the light goes off, release the odometer.
- Start the engine.
- The reset is now complete.
