How do I reset the maintenance light for a 2001 Honda Civic?

What are the instructions to reset a maintenance light for a Honda Civic? I’m not a professional, but I enjoy working on cars. That said, I’ve never worked on a 2001 Civic model before.

If you have reset the maintenance light for other vehicles before, then you know that it is a simple process. Fortunately, resetting the maintenance light for a 2001
Honda Civic
is just as easy!
To reset the maintenance light for your Honda Civic, do the following:
  • Put the key in the ignition. The vehicle needs to be off, so don’t start the car.
  • Search for the Reset button on your dashboard. Press it and hold it down.
  • Turn the ignition to the On position while holding the Reset button.
  • With the vehicle turned on, continue to hold down the switch for 15 seconds. You may release after you see the Maintenance Required light turn off on the dashboard.
  • Turn off the ignition.
  • Restart the vehicle to confirm the reset process is complete.
If you ever decide to drive the vehicles from your collection, remember you will need to have a
car insurance
policy to legally drive in most states.
