reported that Mercedes recently unveiled the next model year of the G-Class. Just like in its previous model years, the G-Class remains one of the best vehicles to off-road with.
Mercedes has put quite a few standard features on the new G-Class. For instance, folks will get 18-inch wheels, mudflaps, and mesh stone guards. These off-roading features are also going to be complemented with a powerful engine.
(KBB), the G 550 gets a 4.0-liter V-8 engine that makes 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to an AMG G 63 for 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque instead. And, of course, since the G-Class is designed to go off-road, Mercedes offers four-wheel drive as a standard feature.
How is the 2022 version different from the 2021 version?
But, Mercedes isn't done yet. The Professional Line Exterior is a new option for the G-Class that Mercedes is introducing for the 2022 model year. This option will include a roof rack, a spare tire holder, and a new mango orange paint job, among other things.
On top of that, Mercedes is significantly increasing the number of interior ambient lighting options. Instead of only getting to pick from eight colors, you can now choose from 64. Furthermore, Mercedes will be offering neat features such as tinted rear glass, a towing hitch, and a rear-seat infotainment system.
While Mercedes hasn't released pricing details just yet, the 2022 G-Class will likely still be an expensive SUV. After all, it's a Mercedes, and it's loaded with other luxury features. KBB estimates that the 2022 G-Class will start at over $130,000.
