How do I pop a dent out of a car door?
My son dented my door when we were playing catch in the front yard. The dent isn’t huge and I don’t want to file a claim because my rates will go up. How can I pop the dent out of my car door?

, you’re right. Your insurance rates will increase. Fortunately, you have several solutions ranging from dent pullers to hot water to hot glue to fix your door dent. So don’t stress!To pop a dent out of a car door, try one of these methods:
- Use a dent puller. These items cost between $10 and $50 depending on the size you need. Simply follow the instructions on the package, and you should be able to pull out a minor dent.
- Use a regular bathroom cup plunger (not a flange plunger) to pop the dent out. A baseball-sized dent is probably the perfect size for this method to work.
- Rub dry ice on the dent. The drastic change in temperature often pops a dent out in just minutes. Reapply as necessary.
- Apply hot glue to one side of a wooden dowel and push it onto the dent. Then, use the dowel as a handle to pop out the dent.
If none of these methods work but you still want to remove the dent, you may have to bite the bullet, take your car to an auto body, and file a claim.
