How do I lower USAA car insurance?
My rates for my USAA policy increased after I renewed my policy. I was in a minor accident last year, but my car wasn't totaled. Can you tell me how to lower my USAA car insurance?

First, take advantage of policy discounts. USAA offers some of the following:
- Policyholders can get up to 10% off their policy if their parents are also USAA insurance members.
- USAA homeowners or renters insurance policyholders can save 10% by adding auto insurance to their policy.
You can also keep an eye out for the following types of discounts:
- Discounts for vehicles with anti-theft devices
- Low mileage discounts
Contact your insurance rep to see which discounts you may qualify for.
Another way to save on your USAA policy is to increase your deductible. This can lower your monthly premium, but it also means you’ll have to pay the high deductible in the event of a claim.
