How do I get a Texas 3A driving record?
I just found out I need to get a copy of my Texas 3A driving record for a defensive driving course. What is that, and how do I go about getting it?

A Type 3A Texas Driving Record is a certified complete driving history that includes a listing of all the accidents and violations on record for you and your license. Requesting a Type 3A Texas driving record is easy. Just visit the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) website and follow these steps:
- Login by entering your driver’s license number, date of birth, last 4 digits of your Social Security number, and audit number (printed on license)
- Select Request Driver Record
- Select desired record type—in your case, this would be Type 3A
- Review Order
- Enter payment information—your Type 3A record will cost $12
- Print Record
If you don’t have access to a printer, you’ll need to mail in a Driver Record Request Form, which can be found on the Texas DPS website.
