How do I check my driving record in California?

I want to check my driving record to see if I still have tickets on there from when I was a teenager. It might be bringing up my insurance rates, which is really annoying. How can I look at my record if I live in California?

In order to check your driving record in
California
, you’ll need to choose one of three options:
  1. Create an online account at the California DMV website and request the files virtually. This will cost you $2.
  2. Mail a request form to: DMV Information Release Unit MS G199 PO Box 944247 Sacramento, CA 94244-2470 And include a check or money order for $5.
  3. Visit your local DMV branch in person and request a copy of your record for $5.
If tickets are bringing up your insurance rates, however, one of the best things you can do is download the
Jerry
app. Jerry can help you find the best rates available from over 50 top providers. The average Jerry user saves $887 per year on their car insurance.
