To see your car insurance
claims history, you can request a copy of your CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report from LexisNexis. Most car insurance companies use LexisNexis to report claims. By requesting your consumer report from them, you should receive the same information car insurance companies get.
A CLUE report will show any claims that you’ve filed. Any time you submit a claim to your insurance, it shows up here—accidents, towing, etc.
If you’re trying to figure out what’s causing your rate to increase, also reach out to your local DMV for your driving record. Your driving record or MVR (motor vehicle record) details your history as a driver. Any points or tickets will show up there.
Checking both your CLUE report for claims history and MVR for driving record issues will be most beneficial.
Otherwise, just reach out to your current car insurance company. They may be able to provide you with additional information as to why your rate has increased or changed.
If your rates continue to increase, shop around for a new car insurance provider. Use the Jerry
app to compare quotes from dozens of insurers so you always get the best rate possible.
