How do I cancel my Assurant renters insurance?
I’m in a bit of a tight spot—I just got Assurant renters insurance, but now have to move to a state that they don’t cover. I have to move before my policy is up, so it looks like I’ll have to cancel. How do I cancel my Assurance renters policy?

There is no fee to cancel an Assurant
renters policy
, and you can cancel at any time. Doesn’t matter if your policy just began, if you’re mid-policy, or if you’re at the tail end of your policy. Even better, Assurant will refund you for what you’ve already paid for. For example, if you purchased a year’s worth of renters insurance but have to cancel after three months, Assurant will reimburse you for the nine months you’ve already paid for.
To cancel, you’ll have to contact them through their website, MyAssurantPolicy.com, or give them a call at 1-800-432-8612. If you’re going to call, you should know that live agents are available to speak to you business days from 8 am to 8 pm EST.
