That’s nice of your friend to help you out, but to replace a headlight assembly, it helps to have some prior mechanical knowledge.
However, the process isn’t overly complicated. So if you want to proceed, here’s what you’ll need to replace a 2006 Honda Pilot headlight assembly:
Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
Open the hood and remove the radiator cover using a flathead screwdriver.
Remove the front bumper by undoing the screws and bolts holding it in place. The fasteners, bolts, and screws are located in the front wheel wells, beneath the radiator cover, and on the underside of the front bumper.
Undo the connectors, fasteners, and bolts holding the front headlight assembly in place.
Remove the old headlight assembly.
Install the new headlight assembly, and put your car back together in the reverse order you took it apart.
When replacing the assembly, remember not to force any of the pieces or you’ll risk breaking them, which could end up costing you more. Additionally, if you realize you’re not equipped to handle this job, call a mechanic.
