Can electric power steering cause a car not to start?

My new car has electric power steering, whereas my old car had hydraulic power steering. Should I be concerned about having issues with my car not being able to start if I have electric power steering?

Technically yes, it is possible for the electric power steering to prevent the car from starting. Unlike a
hydraulic power steering
system, the electric power steering gets its charge from the battery, and if it drains too much power from your battery, your car may not start.
If your car is not starting because of the electric power steering draining too much energy from the
battery
this would be abnormal, and you should get your battery serviced immediately. After all, the battery provides power to all of your car’s electrical components, not just the power steering.
