Does Ford have a rust warranty?
I bought a brand new Ford F-150 two years ago, and the underbody is starting to rust already! It seems way too early for my pickup to be corroding like this. Does Ford have a rust warranty? This is ridiculous.

You’re not alone in your rust distress—Ford F-150s have recently been known to experience corrosion on the underbody extremely early. Unfortunately, while Ford’s standard New Vehicle Limited Warranty does have a rust warranty, it only covers perforation rust that threatens the integrity of the vehicle. Here’s what you need to know:
- The rust warranty is classified under “corrosion”.
- It comes with a 5-year, unlimited mileage term.
- Despite nationwide complaints, underbody rust is considered “surface rust,” which is not covered under Ford’s warranty.
