Does a lowered 4Runner have better handling?

I’m in the process of buying a used 4th Gen 4Runner and the previous owner had the vehicle lowered—I don’t really know much about car modifications but the seller said it’ll improve the vehicle’s performance and handling. Is that true? Does a lowered 4Runner have better handling?

Great question! Generally speaking, a lowered 4Runner will have better handling than the stock option, as lowering the vehicle helps stabilize acceleration by reducing underbody airflow, improves traction by lowering the center of gravity, and minimizes body roll when turning sharp corners.
Of course, the better handling of a lowered 4Runner comes with a few trade-offs, as lowering your vehicle reduces visibility of the road and makes navigating rough or off-road terrain more difficult.
