My license was suspended, but I recently got it reinstated. Do I still need a SR22?

Every state has its own terms and conditions regarding SR22 insurance. Most states require an SR22 for three to five years after your license is suspended, even after reinstatement.
When you get
car insurance
, inform your insurance company that you require an SR22. Not every insurance company offers them, so you may have to shop around to determine who may offer it. If they offer an SR22, you may have to pay a small filing fee, often in the range of $25.
If your insurance lapses at any point while you are required to have SR22 insurance, your insurance company must report it to the DMV. The DMV will then suspend your license again until you’re insured.
