How do I know if my car insurance broker is trustworthy?

I’ve been changing my own oil for over twenty years, ever since I was 16. And I’ve always changed the filter during every oil change—that’s just how I was taught to do it. Now, a coworker of mine tells me that you don’t have to do that. Is that true?
