Which is cheaper: classic car coverage or standard car insurance? I recently got a 1972 Datsun 240z. Do I need classic car insurance on it or can I add it to my regular policy?

on a classic car, it can be beneficial. In most cases, classic car insurance will be less expensive than standard policies.Classic car insurance will not only protect your vehicle from damage, but it also will protect its value. As most insurance policies only pay
actual cash value
for a vehicle, you would lose a majority of a classic car’s value if totaled. Classic car insurance values a vehicle based on its appraised value.
However, classic car insurance does come with specific requirements that you’ll be required to meet. This can include:
- restrictions on miles driven
- how to store the vehicle.
Insurance carriers also factor in your driving record as well, even for a classic car policy.
If you don’t qualify for classic car insurance, you’ll have to look into a personal auto policy for your vehicle.”
