Do I need a driving license to drive a forklift?
I don’t have my driver’s license yet, but I want to get a job that would require me to drive a forklift. Is this allowed, or do I have to wait until I’ve passed my driving test first?

While you won’t need a
driving license
to drive a forklift, you will need a forklift license in order to operate the machine in any state in the U.S. This is an OSHA requirement, so failing to get a forklift license could have negative consequences for you and your employer.To obtain a forklift license, you’ll need to take an OSHA-approved course. The course will consist of classroom work and a written test as well as hands-on training and testing. These courses are usually available online or in person, but most people choose to take the training portion in person.
While you don’t need car insurance to drive a forklift, you should make sure you’re insured before you apply for your driver’s license. The
