“Good news — wood-burning stoves/fireplaces are not a dealbreaker for getting homeowners insurance! Most insurance companies will ask if it was installed by a professional, and it’s your job to make sure that the chimney is in clean, working order.
There may be a small surcharge applied to your premium for having a wood-burning stove in the home, but other than that, most companies will accept them.
