Do electric cars produce heat?

I’m purchasing my new electric vehicle next year and I was wondering if electric cars are naturally cooler than traditional fuel cars. Do electric cars produce heat?

Congrats (in advance) on your purchase! Yes, similar to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, electric motors do produce heat.
Electric cars
don’t rely on internal combustion or internal burning in other terms, however, they still produce heat energy. A small throwback to science class: heat is produced from the movement of tiny particles like atoms and molecules. In an internal combustion engine, the higher temperature makes the particles move faster.
In an electric motor, although there is no combustion happening, the movement of electrons from the battery to the motor causes heat to be released. Also, the acceleration and braking systems are built on friction which causes heat energy to be released. One of the neat features of electric cars is regenerative braking which transforms heat energy from brakes back into energy for the battery.
Your car battery functions best when it’s warm, so the heat your vehicle produces is good. As long as it’s not overheating then your vehicle is operating normally.
