Do electric cars last longer than gas cars?
I’m planning to get my kid a car for their birthday since they passed their exam a few months back. They’re incredibly passionate about the environment, but I also know they want the freedom that a car offers, and now that there are some cheaper electric cars on the market, I think they would really like one. My only concern is the quality of the build—I know nobody makes anything like they used to, but I want to make sure that my kid’s car will last for awhile. Do electric cars last as long or longer than gas cars?

electric vehicles (EVs)
are a longer-lasting choice: electric cars last about three years longer than gas cars with average lifespans of 15 and 12 years, respectively.Electric cars have fewer moving parts than an internal combustion engine, meaning that fewer parts need to be replaced over time. They also have a regenerative braking system, which directs power from the brakes back into the engine, lengthening the car’s lifespan. If you want a longer-lasting car for your child that uses every bit of its potential, an EV is definitely a good choice.
Keep in mind, though, that your kid will need insurance in order to get their car out on the road. Adding a driver younger than 25 to your plan can be expensive, and if you’re buying a new car, you’re already spending a lot of money.
