Can you flat tow a 2021 Chevy Colorado 4x4?
I’m itching to take my Colorado 4x4 on some off-road tracks. The only problem is that my favorite tracks are a few hundred miles from my home. I’d prefer to tow the truck with my RV so I can camp. Is it possible to flat tow a 2021 Chevy Colorado 4x4?

According to the owner’s manual, you can flat tow a 2021 Chevy Colorado 4x4. While you should never flat tow a two-wheel-drive Colorado, the 4WD is equipped with the correct platform that makes flat towing a breeze.
Here’s how to do it:
- Position the vehicle being towed behind the tow vehicle. Make sure it’s facing forward and on a level surface.
- Connect the Colorado to the towing vehicle.
- Apply the parking brake and start the engine.
- Shift the gear to neutral, then turn the engine off.
- With the engine off, leave the key in ACC mode to prevent the steering column from locking.
- Next, disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Shift the truck into park.
- With your foot on the brake pedal, release the parking brake.
- Keep the ignition key in to prevent the steering column from locking.
