Can you flat tow a 2018 Toyota 4Runner?
I just got an RV, and I’m wondering if I can take my 4Runner with me while I visit the country’s national parks. Can a 2018 Toyota 4Runner be flat towed?

No, you cannot flat tow a 2018 Toyota 4Runner—but that doesn’t mean you’re out of luck.
If you can’t flat tow your vehicle behind your RV, you still have a couple of options:
- Use a towing dolly. A towing dolly is a small trailer that holds up your vehicle’s front wheels while its back wheels roll on the ground. This option can only be used with front-wheel drive vehicles.
- Use a trailer. Your other option is to use a trailer. This will be a bit more costly, but you can tow any vehicle that fits on it, even if they aren’t front-wheel drive.
In any case, you’ll need to make sure that your “toad” doesn’t exceed your RV’s towing capacity. You’ll also want to make sure that your dinghy vehicle is insured, as RV insurance doesn’t cover trailers or towed vehicles.
