At what RPM should you switch gears?
I just bought a stick shift car but I don’t know how to drive stick. I’m on a mission to learn it independently because I just can’t do another driving lesson from mom or dad. When do I need to switch gears?

Well you certainly threw yourself into the thick of it! But kudos to you for sticking with the process.
Generally, you should shift gears around 2,000 to 3,000 RPM—but this number will vary depending on the type of driving you’re doing. You’ll gain an intuitive sense of how and when to switch gears as you practice and become more familiar with the gears.
