Polarized suglasses have notable advantages and disadvantages:
On the positive side, polarized glasses reduce glare and reflected light from the sun or wet pavement. They also provide sharper contrast, which can make driving easier.
On the negative side, polarized glasses make viewing an LCD screen, such as your navigation system, more difficult. This is due to the polarizing filter that reduces glare on the screen itself.
