I had Allstate for two years, but I missed my last two payments and they canceled my policy. Will they send my account to a collection agency? Should I pay them even though the policy is already canceled?

“The answer depends on your payment schedule and where the cancellation date falls in relation to how much premium has been paid.
If
Allstate
kept your coverage in force beyond the date that you were paid through, you may still owe some money for this coverage. Insurance companies refer to this as “earned premium.”” This usually happens when changes have been made to the policy and then it is canceled before they are paid for.Your cancellation date should coincide with the date you have already paid to. Call Allstate to confirm, but you may not owe anything. If you do, try to make these payments to avoid collection efforts.
