Will my home insurance cover ceiling leaks?

I'm confused about how home insurance coverage works for things like indoor leaks and flooding. Are ceiling leaks covered by my policy?

It depends on what caused the leak. If the leak was caused by a covered peril on your policy, then the cost of fixing the damage will be covered. For example, let’s say there was a pipe that froze, which caused water to leak in your home’s ceiling. If freezing is a covered peril on your policy, then the water damage will be covered.
