What are some cheap car insurance options for a senior on a fixed income?

My father is the sole driver on his current car insurance policy. He can't afford to pay the usual $150 or $200 monthly insurance rate. How can he get cheap coverage?

Thanks for your question! There are a few companies that offer a pay-per-mile policy, so if your father is driving less often he can get really great discounts on his car insurance.
Another option would be to adjust his coverage. If he owns the car, he can take off collision coverage but keep comprehensive coverage, which would help bring down his payments.
Lastly, it’s always helpful to bundle your policies. If he owns his home, he can get a home insurance policy with the same company to get more savings. The same goes for renters insurance; sometimes it’s cheaper to add a renters policy than it is to have just auto insurance with a company.
