Chevrolet 2500 bolt pattern

The Chevy 2500 has a bolt pattern of 8x6.5. But what does that mean? Any time you’re looking at a bolt pattern, just remember the following formula:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
Following this formula, a Chevy 2500 has eight bolts in a 6.5-inch diameter.
But before you run off to change your tires, you’ll need these measurements as well:
  • Factory wheel size: 17” to 18”

How to measure your Chevrolet 2500’s bolt pattern

With those measurements in hand, you’ll be ready to find the best set of new tires for your Chevy. But wait—have you changed your tires before? Or have your 2500’s wheels been altered in any way?
If so, you may want to take a couple of minutes to confirm your 2500’s bolt pattern. Use a measuring tape or a ruler to measure the distance between two bolts—because there’s an even number of bolts, you can measure from the center of one to the center of the bolt directly across from it. That’ll get you the second number in your bolt pattern.
To get the first number, count the bolts making up the circle in the center of the wheel. If your bolt pattern doesn’t come out as 8x6.5, you may have to double-check the other measurements to make sure you have the correct specifications going into the auto shop.
