How much is a 2013 BMW 5 Series Sedan?

Back in the day, a 2013 BMW 5 Series Sedan came with an MSRP of $47,500. It wasn’t cheap, but most luxury cars aren’t. Presently, you can be the proud owner of a used model for somewhere between $6,339 and $17,023.
The 528i should be priced on the low end of that price range, while the 550i xDrive will be closer to the high end.  You can also expect
550i insurance costs
to be higher than lower-tier models.
Remember, you’re buying used so these are only estimates. List prices will vary based on your location and, of course, the vehicle’s condition. You could also find a great deal on a fixer-upper that just needs a paint job, some detailing, and minimal repairs.

Is a 2013 BMW 5 Series a good buy?

Upon release, the 2013 BMW 5 Series got top marks for the German automaker. It embodied what most drivers love about BMWs
But are 5 Series Sedans worth buying used?
The 2013 5 Series has stood the test of time. Whether you’re looking at a lower model or the highest-end offering in the lineup, you will be driving an excellent luxury sedan.

Reliability

However,
BMW doesn’t have the best reputation for reliability
. Sadly, the 2013 5 Series is no exception.
J.D. Power gave it a ho-hum rating of 3.5/5. It has been recalled four times by the NHTSA, as well. These recalls have been for service brakes, hydraulics, and exterior lighting.
There have also been reported problems with the in-car electronics, electric systems, climate systems, and more.

Speed and performance

Some of the engine specs for the 2013 BMW 5 Series include:
  • 528i: 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo
  • 535i: 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbo
  • Active Hybrid: 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbo plus electric motor
  • 550i: 4.4-liter turbo V8
It’s also important to note that rear-wheel drive (RWD) comes standard on all 2013 models.
As you can imagine, performance is not an issue with the 2013 BMW 5 Series. This is the choice for drivers who have luxury on their minds. It’s fun, smooth, and quiet without sacrificing any of the power and torque that is synonymous with BMW.

Fuel economy

Another negative for the BMW 5 Series, though, is its lack of fuel economy. Let’s see if that’s the case for the 2013 models:

Interior and comfort

The interior of a car is like the kitchen of a home—it’s often its greatest selling point. You will be amazed the moment you sit inside a 2013 5 Series. Ample front and rear legroom, an attractive cabin, and high-quality materials wherever you look help justify its price tag.
Some of the available features in the 2013 5 Series include:
  • 10 speakers
  • 2 subwoofers
  • Radio data system
  • Cruise control
  • Tilt and telescopic steering wheel
  • Universal remote transmitter
  • Front and rear cupholders
  • Dual-zone front climate control
  • Extended cabin cooling
So, yeah, it offers quite a bit—even by today’s standards. Let’s not forget that BMW knows what people want in their vehicles, and they rarely skimp on class and luxury. It’s meant to feel opulent (and it achieves that goal).
Across trims, the 2013 5 Series interior is total wish fulfillment for just about every driver. It doesn’t lose its wow factor.

Safety

This BMW 5 Series was a 2013 IIHS Top Safety Pick. It was graded as “good” for roof strength, head restraints, and seats.
It also offers a wide variety of impressive safety features, such as:
  • Dual front side-mounted airbags
  • Stability control
  • Child seat anchors
  • Traction control
  • Rear door child safety locks
  • 4-wheel ABS
  • Brake drying
  • Tire pressure monitoring
  • Dusk sensing headlamps
  • Auto delay off headlamps
  • Adaptive headlights
  • Cornering lights
  • Daytime running lights
  • Remote anti-theft alarm system
Overall, these safety features are more than enough to label the BMW 5 Series a safe luxury car. You won’t get the option to upgrade when
buying a used car
, but its safety offerings match up with BMWs that hit the market several years later. That’s a good sign!

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
