These Celebrities Had the Coolest First Cars

While some celebrities had expensive first cars, many had popular everyday cars and some even had quirky colored ones.

If you had to go back and choose your first car or
car brand
, which one would it be?
Obviously, financial and logistical barriers stop many drivers from getting the car they really want. On the other hand, celebrities usually have dozens of near-unattainable and
classic vehicles in their collections.
Still, even most of these pop culture icons had to start somewhere! Here are some of the most interesting celebrity first cars, as seen on
TitleMax
.

Who had the oldest first car?

Paul Newman didn't start out to be a car guy, though he would have a competitive racing career later in life. His first car was an unassuming 1929 Ford Model A, the next model released after the iconic Model T.
It makes 40 horsepower thanks to its water-cooled inline-four engine. While it wasn't as powerful as similar GM vehicles at the time, it was still a success.
It was one of the most common cars on the road, with several aftermarket body kits available. Just one year after its release, two million units had been sold.

Some celebrity first cars pop with color

Cameron Diaz's first car was a turquoise and white Volkswagen bus, which was a hand-me-down from her mother.
According to
Express
, she liked driving it as fast as possible to scare other drivers away. Also known as the VW Type 2, it was powered by a carbureted engine that only made around 70 horsepower.
Diaz also appreciated the size of the van. She says you could fit 30 riders inside, though its actual seating capacity is nine passengers. The bus would be passed on to Diaz's younger sister, who totaled the car after rear-ending another driver.
Tom Cruise's first car was a lime-green Dodge Colt. He reportedly relied on that car to get him to all his early acting auditions, including Days of Thunder. While that movie is
a high-octane racing flick
, the Colt is actually very mediocre.
The most powerful version of the Dodge Colt still only earned 96 horsepower. It certainly wasn't the slowest car, but its plain styling definitely wasn't fitting for Cruise's newfound celebrity status.

Simple is better for some celebrity first cars

The first car belonging to Mila Kunis was a Ford Explorer, though she preferred to call it the "Ford Exploder." That was because the tires kept blowing out, but she still enjoyed having "Ford parties" cruising with friends and blasting music.
Kunis would probably be pleased with the premium Bang and Olufsen stereo system that you can have on higher 2022 Explorer trims. The interior might not be so flashy, but it has some exciting engine options.
Both David Beckham and Mark Zuckerberg had a Subaru Forester as their first ride. We can see how the Forester's neat, reliable nature would suit tech giant Zuckerberg. On the other hand,
it's not the sportiest car
for a soccer player like Beckham.
Still, it proves that the Forester has universal appeal. The 2022 version comes with standard AWD, and better ground clearance than most cars in the segment. It also comes with a generous slate of safety features, making it an excellent car for the money.
