Will the insurance of my son's landlord cover my medical bills after a bad fall?
"My son recently moved into a new apartment. While I was visiting him there, I slipped on some slippery stairs outside and twisted my ankle. I don't have health insurance. Will the landlord's insurance cover my medical bills?

“I am sorry to hear you took a spill. Slippery stairs can be very dangerous and it is the landlord’s responsibility to keep the property safe and well-maintained.
In order for the landlord to be liable, you will have to prove that there was some sort of negligence on their part. For example, have others complained about the maintenance on the property? Or are the stairs broken or uneven, which could lead to a fall regardless of weather conditions?
You could be eligible to have your medical bills covered, but it would be best to consult a personal-injury attorney to be sure you have a case.
