Will Progressive drop me after an accident?
I’m very new to car insurance and I just signed up for a Progressive policy. I’m really paranoid that they’re going to drop my policy if I actually need to file a claim, though. Will Progressive drop me after an accident?

Fortunately, Progressive won’t drop your coverage after your first or second accident or incident. However, they may choose not to renew your policy if you get into three or more accidents during your term. They may also drop your coverage if you’ve gotten into multiple accidents within three years.
There isn’t an exact number of accidents Progressive will allow, however. Rather, each case is reviewed individually and the decision to continue your policy is based on many factors. In general, you can expect Progressive to flag you as a
high-risk driver
(and potentially not renew your coverage) if you’ve made more than three claims in a year or have been at-fault in most of the accidents you’ve experienced. Here are some other reasons why Progressive might choose to cancel or not renew your policy at the end of its term:
It may bring you peace of mind to know that if Progressive does choose to drop you, they are legally required to give you a cancellation notice first. This means that you will always be able to secure a new policy or attempt to reinstate your policy to avoid that insurance hike that comes with a
lapse in your car insurance
