Will Home Insurance Cover Fire Damage?

My family recently had quite a scare when a lit candle caught a curtain and nearly set our whole house on fire. Luckily we put it out, but not before it charred up our living room wall. Will our home insurance cover the damage to our wall?

I’m so sorry to hear that! Any brush with fire can be terrifying, but I’m happy to hear everyone is okay and major damage was averted.
In terms of coverage, I have good news. Most
homeowners insurance
policies provide protection for damages that occur due to fire, so you should be all set when it comes to your living room wall.
Your insurance should also cover your curtains, as most policies cover property damages. If any additional appliances, furniture, or clothing were damaged or destroyed by the fire, those should be covered, too. Check with your insurance provider on your policy’s details.
Now, if you’re interested in firing your current provider for better coverage or cheaper rates, you should use
