Will home insurance cover damages from a leaking patio roof?
My patio roof is over a decade old. If it leaks and causes some water damage to the wood underneath, will this be covered by my home insurance?

Unfortunately, this damage would not be covered under your home insurance policy. Since your patio roof is over 10 years old, it is possible that it could need some repair work done to keep it maintained; you may even need to put a new roof on. Home insurance does not cover damage that is caused by simple
wear and tear
or lack of maintenance. Be sure to have a contractor look at your patio roof to make sure there are no hidden problems that you are unaware of.
