Why is my car insurance company asking me to sign a medical authorization form after an accident?
"I was in a not-at-fault accident and ended up going to the hospital to have my back checked out. Everything was fine, but I did have to pay my copay and the bill.
My insurance company hasn't given me much information about what's happening in the process, so I'm not sure if the other party will be paying for any damages yet. Should I sign the authorization form? Why do I need to sign it?"

, your car insurance company is trying to verify your hospital visit. Since your medical payments coverage is primary coverage, they
will be paying out any medical expenses before the claim with the at-fault driver is settled.The authorization form should have record dates listed. If the dates are surrounding the accident, then your insurance is seeking your authorization to pay your bills.
If the dates don’t match up, you should reach out to your insurance company to find out what the purpose of the form is. They’ll be able to give you a detailed reason as to why they require your signature.
You should also reach out to your adjuster to find out what is happening with your claim. If your insurance company is paying your medical bills, they’ll be seeking reimbursement from the at-fault party as well.
