Why is driving under the speed limit dangerous?
I recently got a ticket for driving too slowly, which feels kind of ridiculous to me. I get why you can get ticketed for speeding, but why is it dangerous to drive under the speed limit?

“At times, it’s certainly necessary to drive slowly. But while it may seem counterintuitive, driving under the speed limit on the highway is dangerous for multiple reasons.
When you drive too slowly on the highway, you interrupt the flow of traffic. This puts you in danger of getting a
ticket
, but you’re also endangering other drivers by risking collision.Driving too slowly will block traffic lanes, which is inherently unsafe. And it can frustrate other drivers if you’re driving in the left lane and preventing people from passing you.
There are exceptions to this rule, though! If weather conditions negatively impact your driving ability or if there are physical hazards on the road, you should definitely slow down—and so should everyone else.
Keep in mind that traffic citations can impact your insurance premium. Some insurers care more than others, though, so you’ll need to review your policy for further details.
