Why is comprehensive more expensive than liability only?

Why is comprehensive coverage so much more expensive? I want to add comprehensive to my car insurance policy, but it's increasing by rate by $75.

Comprehensive insurance
is more expensive because it covers more than liability car insurance.
Liability
covers injuries or damages that you cause to others when you’re at fault in an accident up to your policy limit. It does not provide you any coverage.
If you weren’t at fault and were injured or your vehicle was damaged, the other driver’s liability insurance would cover you up to their policy limit.
Comprehensive insurance covers any damage done to your vehicle due to a covered peril. Fault does not matter when looking for comprehensive coverage and there is no policy limit.
The only requirement to use your coverage is that you have to pay your comprehensive deductible.
Since there isn’t a cap or policy limit on your comprehensive coverage, insurance carriers need to charge more to ensure they can afford to cover any claims.”
