Car insurance companies
don’t give discounts to those holding commercial drivers’ licenses or CDLs, because they don’t necessarily reduce risk.
While it may be more difficult to obtain a CDL, holding this license doesn’t necessarily make you a better driver or less likely to get into an accident.
In some cases, you may be more likely to get into an accident as driving a truck is fatiguing. Driving long hours can cause strain on your body and eyes. You may also have issues staying awake on overnight drives.
There is no way to prove that you are less of a risk to insure if you have a commercial driver’s license. In comparison, someone who is married or owns a home is often financially stable. Car insurance companies have proved that they are less of a risk to insure through decades of statistics.
While it may be frustrating that you don’t receive a discount with car insurance companies, it doesn’t mean you can’t find
cheap car insurance
through the

app. You can shop around and compare rates with various companies to potentially find a lower rate, even if that doesn’t include a discount.”
