Do you know of any insurers that don't discriminate against pit bulls and other bully breeds?
My husband is a big fan of bully-breed dogs and he's been wanting one for ages. But I know these dogs usually aren't covered by home insurance. Are there any insurers who do cover bully breeds?

Great question! There is a great amount of breed discrimination by insurance companies, and it is not just against pit bulls or bully breeds. Insurance companies view other dogs such as rottweilers and German shepherds as dangerous and will refuse to provide coverage. But most dogs, regardless of breed, are awesome family pets if they are raised correctly and have obedience training.
There are actually quite a few companies that will write for bully breeds, including Allstate and Nationwide. It also helps if your dog has earned a
that you can show to your insurance carrier. You can find more information about this through the American Kennel Club.
