I have a used BMW that I bought a few months ago. While it’s been a great car so far, one issue that riles me up is that my BMW Bluetooth keeps disconnecting from the radio. Why is this happening?

Unfortunately, there’s no single reason why BMW Bluetooth keeps disconnecting from your head unit. Some older-model BMWs have bugs within the iDrive infotainment system that cause this issue—many without a current fix.
However, the more likely culprits are one of these two issues:
You connected another Bluetooth device to the head unit. For example, a friend or spouse used the car and connected their phone. When this happens, your phone gets automatically booted from the Bluetooth system if their phone accidentally got added as the primary device.
The other issue—and the most common fix—is that you have Wi-Fi on and it’s interfering with your connection. Disable your Wi-Fi and you shouldn’t have any more disconnection issues.
