Why does an Acura MDX check tire pressure light come on?

I was running errands in my Acura MDX when the tire pressure light came on. Why did it turn on and what do I need to do? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my tires, so how can I check what’s going on with the tire pressure light?

It’s always irritating when your dashboard lights up! The
Acura MDX
check tire pressure light comes on when the tire pressure is significantly low. Here’s what you should do:
  • Pull over and wait a few minutes so the air in your tires isn’t warm
  • Use a tire pressure gauge to check each tire’s pounds per square inch (psi)
  • Inflate your tires to the recommended psi
That should do the trick! If the TPMS light doesn’t go off after you inflate the tires, you can reset it so the light turns off. Look under your steering wheel for a button that has a tire tread and exclamation point. Press it for a few seconds and let go once it blinks. That’s it!
