Why are car insurance rates so high in Louisiana?
I live in New Orleans and I recently renewed my policy. I insure two cars and two drivers, and suddenly my insurance is more than my actual loan payments. I've only been in one car accident in the past five years, and it wasn't my fault. Why is car insurance so expensive?

The reason why Louisiana is so expensive is because it has the highest rate of uninsured drivers—nearly one-third of drivers on the road don’t have insurance. Furthermore, New Orleans has the highest rate of litigation in the country among large cities, with nearly four times more lawsuits over accidents compared to cities like Miami. So that’s why you’re paying so much for car insurance.
